What does ecommerce mean?
Whats an ecommerce website? I'm confused!
whats the difference between a non ecommerce site and a ecommerce site?

An ecommerce website really just means a website where business is conducted, so a non ecommerce site (as you put it) is one where business isn't being conducted as such, so for example just information provision or whatever.

The 'e' stands for electronic, like e mail etc. So e commerce is like a kind of an electronic shop, or business where consumers can usualy buy stuff

Dave Chaffey defines e-commerce as:

“All electronically mediated information exchanges between an organization and its external stakeholders”

Straight out of my dissertation on e commerce and small businesses.
