Add Store to my Website
Hello! This is my first post, as I randomly stumbled across this forum yesterday and found the content of the posts rather useful. Anyways, I'm Pete and I'm a sophomore in college studying Mechanical Engineering. In my spare time, I have thought myself html, xhtml, css, and theoretical javascript. I've built a website for my dad's organization and am soon to be paid $500 for my work + maintenance. Anyways, I'm currently building a site for myself.
www.bigbluenote.com is registered and soon I'll buy a host after I'm done developing the code. The hardest part of the site is a Store that I want to add. Basically, I need a store that will sell items I determine and give me % commission. ie) I want a store that will sell Toby Keith's High Maintenance Woman CD and collect money and do the entire transaction for me. I don't own the CD personally, I need the company to supply it. Basically, I'm refering customers to a Store that sells only items I want it to, and I want a commission for sending them traffic/ customers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (If this is the wrong subforum, please redirect my post - sorry, it's my first time.) |

Re: Add Store to my Website
That is not adding a store to your website. Basically you want to be a middleman in the transaction. I am not sure how much you could make doing that since it has been my experience that when I go to an e-commerce site, I want to buy then and there. I am not very likely to go to one site that will send me to another site to purchase. Honestly after the first time, most people would just go directly to the site you are referred them to...much easier. You may want to rethink what you want todo.
Note: this is my own opinion based on experience. I don't want to discourage you if you really believe you can make it work. Good luck.
