Question New to Photoshop - Help Needed!

Hi

I have just started playing around with Photoshop (CS2 v9.0) for the first time, and have a design that I am fairly happy with.

However when I select 'save to web' after slicing the page up all of the text I have written becomes a .jpg - meaning the text elements are not editable within frontpage for instance.

Hopefully someone can spare the time to tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

What did you expect it would do? PS is a graphics program. It doesn't know the difference between what should be text and what should be graphics. Everything is graphics.

Ditch the slice tool in PS, cut the site up yourself and hand-code your site too. Figure out what can be applied by simply using the background-color property in CSS and what should be a background image.

Hide the layers that contain text and slice away.

Best thing you could do is put the jpg of the whole site here and we can guide you through the slicing process.

Ok, CSS2 is not able to make editable text... however when the CSS3 (Dreamweaver, and Flash) come out they will be able to import PSD's and the text can be editable. While I'd still stay away from this approach in Dreamweaver as the coding will be horrid, it is possible in the newer versions.
