Need a little help with Dreamweaver
Hi,
I am a postgrad student doing Museum Studies and for one of my courses I have to design a simple website using Dreamweaver. Its all going fine except for one page. While this page appears fine within Dreamweaver, once I preview it in IE the spacing of the navigation bar down the left hand side is all stretched out with huge gaps between the buttons. Each button is in its own cell. I know this description is pretty vague but can anyone spot what I'm doing wrong? Its driving me nuts - any suggestions would be great. Thanks! |

Re: Need a little help with Dreamweaver
Sorry, I'm a complete beginner at this. Here is the code for the page:
<body> <table width="765" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#D6D6CE"> <!--DWLayoutDefaultTable--> <tr> <td width="167" height="93" valign="top" bgcolor="#9CCE9C"><!--DWLayoutEmptyCell--> </td> <td colspan="6" valign="top" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><h3 class="style1"><img src="images/title%20banner.gif" width="594" height="93"></h3></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="167" height="56" valign="top" nowrap bgcolor="#9CCE9C"><div align="center" class="style1"><a href="about"> </a><a href="index1.htm"><img src="images/home%20button.gif" alt="Home page" width="167" height="50" border="0"></a></div></td> <td width="9" rowspan="14" valign="top" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><!--DWLayoutEmptyCell--> </td> <td width="18" rowspan="14" valign="top" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><!--DWLayoutEmptyCell--> </td> <td width="518" rowspan="12" valign="top" bordercolor="#FFFFFF" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><p align="center"> </p> <p align="center"><img src="images/childrens%20university%20logo.gif" width="334" height="136"></p> <p align="left"><a name="Origins"></a><a name="top"></a> </p> <p class="style1"> </p> <p class="style1"><strong>The origins of the Children's University </strong></p> <p class="style1">The Children's University is a scheme run by local LEAs that awards children who take part in activities outside of school hours. Re: Need a little help with Dreamweaver
Please use the vbCode [ code ] tag to wrap you code in!
I don't even know where your menu is in this! Last edited by karinne; Mar 7th, 2007 at 15:56. |

Re: Need a little help with Dreamweaver
I plopped the code into my dreamweaver program to see what you were doing.
Highlight each table row. (Place your mouse cursor just to the left of each table row and an arrow will appear. When you see the arrow click to select that row. Set the Height in the properties window to 25 (the height of your image). That will take the spaces out between each image. |
