Online database

I am building a database to keep information about 150 orphans in our orphanages. The orphanages themselves are in China. Our main office is in Philadelphia and we have people who travel to a variety of places, South Africa, other parts of the U.S. and Canada and Europe. Most of these people at some time or other need access to the data if for no other reason than to help out with orphan sponsorships.

I have three options. 1. Create a datafile in Access and distribute it every time there is a change (everything is kept on individual pc's. 2. Create the application in Access or Open Office and store the datafile online. (Data is stored on my webspace but the application is kept on individual pc's 3. Find an database application online that will work with the data online as well - everything is online.

I would prefer to use option 3 because the app can be developed so that there are no extraneous options on the screen when it is used - I am working with people who are...well, not quite computer illiterate but they would get confused easily if extra options appeared on the screen.

The third option is relatively easy, seeing as you seem to be able to store data online I'm assuming you have web-hosting?
You could either find a CMS to manage the database, create your own or use a application such as PHPmyAdmin. If you don't have any CMS building experience I wouldn't recommend building your own as this will most likely be confidential information and you may breach the data security act if you dont secure it successfully. PHPmyAdmin would probably be your best bet, see if you already have it on your host or if it can be installed.

Thanks.. I have played with phpadmin a bit. is there some to create a very user friendly interface for people to use to data entry and access the data?
