Ie 7

I do not have access to a windows machine with service pack 2 so I can't install IE 7. Should I just use the same style sheet I have for IE 6 for IE 7? Also, the screenshots for IE 7 look terrible, what a horrible interface.

Re: Ie 7

IE 7 is a UI abortion at best. But at least it fixes a bunch of IE 6's problems.

Re: Ie 7

Well based on IE 7 and how MS has already forced all of us to go back and modify hacks and replace them with conditional comments (Which all in all isn't bad) but that they change the rules and force the community to cater to their crapware. e.g. the * html hack = bumkus in IE 7.

But at least IE 7 has PNG support, now supports background-attachment:fixed; etc is nice. And tabbed browsing is always good to have although they are about 6 years too late heh.

Re: Ie 7

Windows Vista is working towards looking like OS X, but it's far from it! IE7 should really take a leaf out of Safari's encyclopedia (with Saft and SafariStand installed, anyway).

Re: Ie 7

Microshaft should pull out of the browser market... 7 versions and they still can't get it right.... They should leave it to te experts at mozilla.

Re: Ie 7

Ahhh, a web designer's life would be so much easier if there was only one universal browser. It's too bad that it's optimistic to the point of insanity to wish such a thing would ever happen.

Re: Ie 7

Lots of different browsers isn't a bad idea... I mean I believe ppl should have a choice in these things but they should be forced to comply to more strict standards...

Better polish it up, I can't imagine why they would use the same css -- in fact, I'm pretty sure from beta that the css for IE7 and Opera will be closer than IE7 and IE6.

Really, if IE7 and the last version of Firefox don't eliminate most of the most basic x-browser issues, I would be surprised. IIRC all major browsers are now compliant in some basic ways, such as basic box size definitions.
