why CSS !

With CSS you define the colors and sizes in "styles". Then as you write your documents you refer to the styles. Therefore: if you change a certain style it will change the look of your entire site.

Another big advantage is that CSS offers much more detailed attributes than plain HTML for defining the look and feel of your site. http://webware.izhr.com

Finally, CSS can be written so the user will only need to download it once - in the external style sheet document. When surfing the rest of your site the CSS will be cached on the users computer, and therefore speed up the loading time.

The only reason not to use CSS in your design is not knowing how!

Re: why CSS !

Hi, my first post... woohoo.

This thread just helped me win an arguement at work so I think random "knowledge" threads are good. :o)

It's called "Bordering on spam"

I question the point of strolling into a forum where people are asking for tips on CSS and telling them why they should use CSS ... because surely everyone here has already come to that conclusion, otherwise they wouldn't be here ...

I did say bordering on :P
As a forum owner, I would question the worth of a thread that offers no apparent content.
There is no question for which we can provide an answer.
There is no answer to a question that has been asked elsewhere, or one that warrants a thread of its own.
The fact that the thread has pretty much immediately gone into off-topicness reinforces my view, I think

Re: why CSS !

I am a big CSS fan.

Its only downside IMHO is the crossbrowser issue that may arise in given situations.

my rule # 1 - always test your CSS code both in IE and Mozilla.

Cheers

Re: why CSS !

Tis spam.
Rob pointed out in another thread it's just an excuse to link back to his own site.
If you all click the "report spam" button (the top right of the post) it gets removed double quick.
