CSS Image Buttons - Using too much code possibly ??

Hi all ,

I have 4 image buttons i am adding to my page they have 3 states to each , was wondering if i am just using to much code .. and how to possibly refine it.

here is a link to the page in question

http://www.firstbasedesign.co.uk/index_test.html

just a note , the actual text on each button is part of the actual image , would i be better removing that text ??

many thanks

Try this: http://creativecoding.webforumz.com/...ith-images.php

In your case, the navigation looks brilliant! I personally think using the images is fine, but if you use the above method Karinne describes, you might cut down file sizes and loading times.
PS: Whole site looks very nice

I am just after getting my CSS as tight as possible , and trying to avoid 'repeat' code if its not really needed !

You could position real text on top of the images, allowing you to recycle your buttons. So instead of 12 images, you would use 3, with the text going on top.

I would apply the images as CSS backgrounds, and set the size of each link to match the image.
