problem with border-right in FF
Hi all
Could somebody take a look at the site im building.... http://www.design365.co.uk/piccolo/default.asp For some reason it isnt displaying the white border down the right hand side properly in firefox but the left border is fine. The border-left and border-right are set in the 'container' dive, fine in IE Thankyou |

Re: problem with border-right in FF
your banner and navbar div's are too long, if I shorten them I can see the white border in FF

Re: problem with border-right in FF
kool, ill give that a try welshstew.
Theres also another problem, my 'container' div isnt adjusting with the content, there should be a light blue background behind the images and text box etc as i have set my container background color to #9999ff. I hope ive explained myself properly lol |

Re: problem with border-right in FF
Sorry Danny, I don't have time at the mo to have a look, but it might be something to do with the float. I remember encountering somthing similar in the past.

Re: problem with border-right in FF
the color #9999ff is the color for your background in the container.
It's showing correctly. Did you select the wrong Hex number? |

Re: problem with border-right in FF
erm im not actually sure, i tried a few things, i think welshstew might have been right when he said its got something to do with the floats.
Ive previously used 'absolute' positioning until i disovered floats....am i right in assuming that with floats, the position of divs in your html affects where things appear on the webpage? |

It's not a bug in the browser: this is the correct behaviour. Floats are removed from the normal flow and shifted as far to the left or right as allowed by the containing block. Since they are removed from the flow, they cannot influence the height of their containing block (trying to do so would be something of a paradox). |
