How can I adjust my layout so...
Hello everyone,
I know this topic has been brought up before, but the person didn't really get a clear explanation or guidance, lol... Anyhow, I'm wanting to adjust my layout where it will show ONE size on ALL different sized screens. I am totally at loss when I think about this, lol... Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Nathaniel

Re: How can I adjust my layout so...
If you want it to be one size on all screens then design just one size. Sorry if that sounds simple, but it is.
If you want the same size then just design it to be 800 x 600 and it will be that size on all screens. if you want it to adjust to the screen size then use a liquid layout to adjust to the users screen size.

Re: How can I adjust my layout so...
First you need to explain what you mean.
For example, do you want the size to be fixed -- say, about 750 pixels wide? Or do you want it to stretch to the screen resolution? Do you really mean all screen resolutions, or will you accept a minimum supported resolution? Personally, I design for a site to fit 1024*768 at the default text size, to compress effectively down to 800*600 or a bit lower, and to scale with the text size (so you can make it fill the screen if you bump up the text). This is a very flexible, user-friendly approach; but it is quite sophisticated in terms of CSS layout skills. You may prefer something easier. |
