The DOCTYPE should be the very first line in your document

Because that what i was like in the tutorial i didnt think it was right but just followed it anyway ill take it off and see what happens .

What is your list doing in the <head> of your document?
You have no metadata or title - Make your HTML efficient
You still have those <link ...> tags above the DOCTYPE

i have gone threw it about 1000 times now i just dont no where im going wrong iv tried everything and this is what im left wid a bar of links that do nothing please sumone help me http://www.juxdesigns.com/button/index.html

I'm not sure what you want to happen when you hover ... I'm assuming you want a different image to show up but the button_bg.gif image is the same as the one you use for regular links

There is no hover state in it.

Your image should look like the image in this example - Fast Rollovers Without Preload
