Problem with FF

Hi All,
I am relatively new to tabless designs and I am working on a site that I said I would do for a friend and he wanted in tabless, the problem is that it works fine with IE7 it displays the header in two parts, then the menu, followed by content divided into three and then the footer.

The problem with FF is that it is not displaying my text or my menu, any help would be most appreciated.

I have placed the <style></style> within the html document so that it is easier to view.

add the following to your css

/*clear the decks*/
div.clear    {clear:both; font-size:0px; height:0px;}

and then add the following div to just above your menu div

<div class="clear"></div>

you may need to play with the css to get it looking right in IE6 but it should work

it just jumps down a couple of extra pixels in IE6 as it reconises that there is a div in the code. you may need to add a display block, visability hidden command into the css to get it to line up correctly in IE6, but its most of the way there.

Is it really bad in IE 6 as I only have IE7 and latest FF at work to and again at home

Nah, just about 5 px diff.

You can install multiple IE's for testing from here: http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE
great small package that just changes your reg settings to pick up the seperate versions. Some small issue, but none that I have encountered.

or you can get the official virtual PC's for testing at the following:

however, it's a bit more complicated, in that you have to install a VPC and then place the differing images onto the VPC. So, you will need about 2gb to run it!

Thanks for all the help Stew, I'll look into installing IE6 for testing as it will be more than handy.
