I'm used to just splitting tables, how can I do this in css?

I'm used to just splitting tables, how can I do this in css?

If i want to split my contentheader into two pieces: one for the logo on the left, the other for the small navigation on the left, what's the best way to do this? thanks.

If on the left you just have the logo then you can float the logo left and then just float: right you unordered list that you're using for the menu.
