Normally a 'label' would self-align itself to the left of its input box, and adjust its own width dependant on content, and therefore perhaps doesn't need displaying as a block.
As for the input box, you should use the 'size' attribute e.g. size="40". That will give you a box 40 characters wide. If you're also talking about a 'textarea', then you can size that by using the columns attribute e.g. cols="100". That's also roughly about 100 characters wide. Sometimes it just needs a little experimentation. Hope that helps. |
