Learning CSS

Hi, i would like to start to learn CSS, I know there are hundreds of tutorials on google but does anyone know of any good ones that for an absolute beginner (I can't stand tutorials that seem basic and then suddenly expect you to know how to do something later without explaining it)

http://www.htmlgoodies.com/

I used this one and liked it. It might be a little cutsie for some tastes.

1stPage 2000, a HTML editor, is free and includes a lot of info about css.

A few more:
CSS tutorials
Stylesheets Guide
TopStyle
Complete CSS Guide
And in case you are having problems, make sure you use a DOCTYPE and check the CSS compatibility charts to see if it might be a possible browser issue.

I would highly recommend W3 Schools... very easy to understand. The link is posted above in Coreys post.

Re: Learning CSS

Tutorials are good, I personally find experience better.

Just sit down and try to build a site using CSS only. When you can't figure out how to do something do a quick Yahoo search on that topic. Tutorials are good, but often the techniques are forgotten, yet if you spend the time to make a site and learn as you go, you are more apt to remember and effectively utilize the technique you learned. Not to mention you'll have a better shot at retaining what you learned and not have to refer back to the tutorial later on.

Re: Learning CSS

Yes i like to learn by experience but in this case i have absolutely no idea where to start - i dont know the first thing about css other than everyone says you should use it instead of tables. If you have any starting points it would be a help (ive not checked out the tutorials yet as i don't have time at the min but i will do), thanks
