Hi,

can anyone explain me the difference between CSS background-color:none and background-color:transparent?

Thanks in advance!

Re: background-color

"background-color:transparent" means that the background color of the parent element will shine through. I think "none" is used with background-image, not background-color but feel free to correct me if that's wrong.

That is right, there is no background-color:none. Thanks! Sorry for such a stupid question.

Re: background-color

A lot of these css values can be confusing, you get used to it in the end but it can be a pain. You should always ask if you aren't too sure, imagine you didn't ask and still thought that there was a background-color: none; it's always better to ask, me thinks.

Pete.
