CSS Columnar layout, to include a background...
Hi All,
What I am trying to acheive is a page with 3 columns on, a header and a footer. The three columns must be 750px wide in total, and be centred on the screen. I also want a solid background color behind all 3 of my columns. I made a container div, which I centered. Inside that I put my header div, and header content. (and closed it) I then placed a 'Maincontentdiv' to provide me with the background color. Inside that I then nested my 3 Divs for the columns and typed in my content. I then closed the 'maincontent' div. Next comes my footer div (close footer div) Now close container div. The problem I have is that as there is no actual content inside my 'maincontent' div, I see no background color behind my columns. I want the background color to extend right to the footer div, and expand and contract as I enter content into my columns. Any help appreciated Thanks in advance Doug |

It could be anything from a syntax error to missing elements.
I think we'll need to see some code. |
