im pretty sure the answer to this question is no but....

can css handle basic maths?

for example: width: 100% - 250px;

the problem is i've got a fixed square (250x250px) on the right and an expanding content area on the left.. but i can't determine the width of the left div?

any ideas?

thx in advance

Re: im pretty sure the answer to this question is no but....

solution is not to set the width.. but set the left and right positions

right:250px;
left:0px;

the width automatically fills the space...
