Cant Get CSS background images to show up

I have a question about the print.css file. I created it and have it changing body styles such as font and size and all but I am not able to figure out how to keep certain background images in the print. Most tutorials are showing me how to eliminate them but i want to KEEP the css background images that are assigned to div layers in the print page. Any advice or sample of the css file would be very helpful. Thanks.

Background images won't print unless the user printing your page will have their printer set to print backgrounds ... not much you can do there unless you put the images as <img>

thats what i was thinking but. have been looking into it and it seems like some are getting their print.css file to actually print out backgrounds they set a screen css file and a print css.

background: generally won't print as media="print" is handled differently than media="screen". Unfortunately as stated this is a setting in the browser which is defaulted to off to save people ink/toner.
