Scrollbars in Firefox
Firstly, hello to everyone cos this is my first post.
Secondly, apologies if this has been covered somewhere before but I couldn't find it. I'm fairly new to web design and self taught so this may all appear a bit skew-whiff but hey, here goes... I have built a website that uses divs instead of tables. all the divs are centered using the html center tag. the header img is 720px wide, as is everything else. my problem arises in Firefox on the div that encloses all the main text. The scroll bar in Firefox appears to tack on to right hand side of the div, as opposed to IE where it appears within the div. Because it tacks onto the right hand side of the div, the div as a whole becomes 20px wider (or whatever size a scroll bar is) and when it centers, there's approx 10px either side of everything else that looks stupid! Anything I'm doing wrong here or anyway I can get round this? Ta muchly. |
