Do we have a thread to discuss strategies for dealing with clients? I would be interested to read on what others think.

What exactly do you mean? Which type of customers? The nasty ones or the ones who say yes to everything you say?

All really. As a web developer I consider dealing with clients a big part of my job (probably 20% of my time), I think it is as important as knowing how to design and build a site.

I mean issues like:

* Getting Clients
* Explaining things to clients effectivly
* Getting Content on Time from clients
* Difficult Clients
* Getting Paid on Time
* Telling which clients to Avoid (Red flag clients)
* Repeat Work from existing Clients
* Making yourself availible for contact with clients

etc etc

I think its a massive subject and needs to be discussed

Agreed.

I got my first client by accident, he agreed instantly with my proposition, like my design and paid on time. That's when I decided to work free lance

The rest is all word-of-mouth, but they all agreed to my propositions too soon, so I guess I'll have to charge a little more..
