Streaming video..without special server? How?
Hello,
Yes, I am a new member to webforumz. I wondered how to stream video off of a website without a special server? I tried using it using basic html/.wmv code but it seemed it took very long for others to start the video to stream...Can someone plz help me? My project is to allow users to upload/download videos of a particular game I play. I do know how to allow users to download but not upload..very quickly. Is there anyway? I used a few programs but they seemed hard to setup. Btw, The website is http://csfragit.com/ . -Joe |

Re: Streaming video..without special server? How?
you can't stream without a streaming server.
What you are doing is http downloading. Usually your media player of choice will deal with the download and start to play it once it has enough information to begin. It has a download buffer which can be set by the user to start playing once a certain ammount has been downloaded. Obviously if your server or the user has a slow connection getting to a point where the download buffer has sufficient information is going to take longer. |
