Asp not opening!

Hi. I am running WinXP. I just recently installed Apache2. (I verified this by opening IE and typing 'localhost' and getting the Apache Welcom-page. But the problem is, the webpages i made that have asp content in them are not displayed correctly. i.e. only the HTML code is shown in IE, asp code is ignored. Also wen i open a .asp page (localhost/mypage.asp), IE shows the "waddaya wanna do? save/Open" dialog, instead of showing the compiled asp page. Whats the problem?

Re: Asp not opening!

aspcam..

I am not sure why you want to serve ASP pages under apache??? I am ultra puzzled!

Sure, there are ways and means of getting asp (and asp.net) pages to function under apache but they are all workarounds and bodges!

ASP and ASP.NET are meant (and designed) to run under IIS!

If you have XP professional or XP media center addition then you will have IIS as an extra install option (control panel -> add remove programs -> add remove windows components -> Internet Information Services (IIS))

If you dont have either of these operating systems, then you really outta think about upgrading. IIS is pretty essential to running ASP pages without hitches.

Hope this helps!
