ATTENTION: Work on the newest open directory/ search engine/ social network hybrid has begun.Any Questions?
This is the only blog where low-calcium is ok!
Welcome to the humble blog for Idiots, its almost like Web 2.1 for Dummies. EXCEPT its more blunt and half as much sodium.
I own various web-sites here and there and I'll be bloging about the extraneous task of making them from not-so-great to fantastic (in 3 easy years.) Enjoy!

Thus say the Google Demon "Thou shalt have no other search engines besides me."
Thus say everyone else "You wish... Well we wish you'd stop rubbing it in."
Keeping the Internet Copy Free!
How 2 not compete with goggle:
How to honestly compete with the Google Demon.

Thus say everyone else "You wish... Well we wish you'd stop rubbing it in."
Keeping the Internet Copy Free!
How 2 not compete with goggle:
1.You tell Google that you going to invest into Micro-Ho!
In case anyone is wondering Microsoft Plans to take yahoo (with their legs kicking) and take-on Google.com.
Of Course Google laughs at this. The Microsoft Bid is Microsoft last chance at trying to become a Internet monopoly. Why would we want an Omni-monopoly you already own 95% of all pc's in the entire world. Just because you stock is only worth 95% doesn't mean you need to panic.
Google's Solution: "I already do what they do, except I do it better and my user base grows while yours diminishes." Casual but frank Google has seen nothing but straight improvement where Microsoft and yahoo are all on decline.
2.Force the use of your search engine over Google’s
Hmmm, really is that a good idea for Google-away solution. I think the hundreds of Google employee's just pull out there forks and dig into a challenge. An hour later the spit out a solution.
Yahoo + MSN now come bundled with any installation. Yahoo bundles there tool bar, search bar, desktop search thing, and changes you Internet Browser to use yahoo search when you download the Yahoo Messenger (Yahoo Security Features, or anything Yahoo-ey). Where Microsoft bundles the MSN stuff every time you install a Microsoft thing, from a driver to an operating system. (One of these days I'm goanna use a Google OS.)
Google's Solution: "Why be a pest, when I support open-source software and I treat my employee's like god's." There is just no way installing something and bundling your search engine will help you, when most websites include the friendly Google "Web or This site Search" (powered by Google)
3.Expand into advertising by advertising on Google? (uh... Stupid thing Microsoft did)
When you have to stoop so low that in order to compete with Google you have to advertise on Google about you advertise campaign. You have no hope.
Weather you boss claims it will be beneficial, goggle make sure that you ad goes right after there's. 99% of the time people will click on Google's unless they are a part of the Google Relocation program (as well as the Blockbuster one). For accidently trying to find Google’s help line. Anybody know what the number is?
Google's Solution: "Umm... Ya that’s smart, advertise your advertisement stuff on my Search Engine I'll take you money but... I don't guarantee any hits"
How to honestly compete with the Google Demon.
First don't offer one of Google's services directly. (Like Microsoft Live Maps, hello we know this is somehow related to Google) Instead find something Google doesn't do and add that to your Search Engine capabilities.Stop competing with duplicates, and start competing with unique was to do something. Don't offer e-mail because you are a big solution and you want money by advertising to death. Instead offer mail that allows you access from your mobile, or gives you a text messaging address for other mobiles. Do something unique and cool and you might be the next Twitter. Lol. (Even though I don't twitter, yet)
For instance, Digg.com is a premier source for on line blogging and unique content, they get the same response as if it was a search engine. Yet it really isn't.
Another competitor is the Open Directory Project it helps people get to websites that have been pre-approved and have been categorizing by the admin staff, so you don't get stuck having to click on the first option and find its completely different then what you wanted. (http://www.dmoz.org/)
Something I want to do to compete with Google is to have all the websites in the world have a home page screenshot, so you know what you’re going into before you go to the site itself. (egtworlds.com)

Microsoft need to stop competing. They own every computer almost, they have enough money to finance a major shipping company and its wierd that Bill Gates still wants to enlarge his computerized empire.

Bill gates isn't directly in control of microsoft anymore, he's only a part time worker
In July he's leaving all together and will only remain as chairman to pursue a full time career in Philanthropy (i think that's how it's spelt). But anyway.... microsoft seem to have a one track mind and a nack for getting on peoples nerves, they try too hard thinking what they can do, not what we want them to do... And from how i see things over here they are loosing a grip, i'm meeting far more people who've already switched to other OS or have gone to the effort of dual booting. Microsoft need to shape up... and fast.. Vista was a disastor... i'm scared everything else they do will be... much like IE still is... web expressions isn't so good either... |
