Had a discussion today and the subject came up of what software packages are the most indispensable for the Mac based web developer. I use a lot of different applications throughout the day and I knocked it down to this list.

So your at the point where you want to start your new project but with so many designers available, who should you choose? This guide is meant to help you decide on your new designer and point you in the right directions before making that choice.

Know what you want:
You really do need to have some idea of the design and layout you are looking for. If you really have no idea then take a few days to research your competition, look at their designs and why they work, make notes

Today Opera has launched a new education system that aims to teach all you need to know about Web Standard based development - "a course designed to give anyone a solid grounding in web design/development, no matter who they are - it is completely free to use, accessible, and assumes no previous knowledge."
