Why shouldn't I use transitional?

Posted Nov 1st, 2007 at 23:58 by alexgeek
Why shouldn't I use a transitional doctype?

Therefore you should use a strict doctype.

Most website owners witnessed very little change to their sites ranking, that said a small band of directory owners have seen a dramatic cut in their rankings. Two noticeable changes I found were on two heavyweights in the directory sector; Alive Directory and Bigweblinks, both sites were cut from a PR of 7 to 4. I imagine some people are very unhappy having paid a small fortune for a homepage listing on the Bigweblinks...

Google have their eyes wide open and trained square in the eye of the social bookmarking scene and social portals alike.

They understand with mission critical importance that portals such as facebook and social news sites such as digg can be tied firmly into their new social platform that will span across all of it's applications.

With some sideways thinking, you could see the benefit social networks could have on the search wars also....

Digg for instance...

10 Reasons It Doesn’t Pay To Be “The Computer Guy”

Posted Oct 29th, 2007 at 08:12 by c010depunkk

Reason #10 - Most Of Your Accomplishments Are Invisible
The computer guy never hears anyone tell him, “I just want to let you know … everything is working fine!”
The reality is that people call the computer guy when something is wrong.
As a computer guy, if you work really hard to make everything work the way that it should, and things work fine, then people believe
