Where can one find great photos?
Hi peeps!
I`m looking for a really nice photograph that I can use as an avatar, hopefully not too expensive; how come all the really nice ones are so expensive? Anyway, does anyone know of a place where one can find this kind of thing? Fine photos, cheap? Maybe photos of fine works of art/paintings?

Been there, done that. I was just hoping someone here might have stumbled on something like this somewhere, you never know. Oh well, thanks for the response, Jacob.
Anyone ever work on a fine arts, or museum-type site who might know of a good place for fine art photos?

For free copyright free photos have a look at http://www.sxc.hu/ - you have to pay for some but there are a great many that are free of charge

I'm a member of iStockphoto, but SXC is awesome too as it's all free and most of the stuff doesn't need links or require you to notify the photography. iStockphoto has a massive selection, though.
