Re: C Sharp Dot Net ???

Well guys,

I applied for that place at skills train and what a crock it turned out to be.
The agent that came to see me assured me I would be learning c#.net.

When I finally came to start the course I thought it seemed a little simple with the course going on about how to use outlook, how to add images to web pages etc.
With the course saying this is designed for beginners in mind I thought nothing of it and contacted my tutor stating that I was capable of all this already and could I advance on to the actual c# programming only to receive an email back saying perhaps I would be happier on the c#.net course...

You can imagine my reaction to that, so I contacted the admin dept for skills train who were no help at all and had a right attitude when I explained I had been put on the wrong course. The rottweiler I spoke to told me that there was a clear £1000 difference between the ciw course they had put me on and the c# course I was supposed to be on (so in my mind this was deliberate) and also told me I would get it sorted out faster if I wrote in (during a UK postal strike since they would not put me on to someone senior on the phone) and from that day to this I have heared nothing. It has been over two weeks now and not even so much as a confirmation email, call or letter back.

What a sham of a company. I have just sent them a final letter demanding my money back within the next 10 days or its the legal route.

This will be the second (college type place) that has conned me and I'm now starting to think about giving up IT all together. It seems all these teach you programming and web apps courses are all a rip off.

If anyone out there is looking to learn web languages or IT DO NOT go with skills train as they send out agents, sell you the wrong course then fob you off or ignore you when you try and sort it out.

I wouldn't mind so much if I were single but I have a a partner and 2 children to support, very little income and could do with out being ripped off to the tune of three grand.

I'm well annoyed as it seems that every time I try to help myself out of this hole all I get is ripped off

I love IT and I love web design and programming and hate to admit defeat but it looks like Im never gonna get where I want to be with all these stinking cow boy outfits.

As you can gather It has all gotten me down. I should be sitting here now writing about how much Im loving the progress I'm making.

One thing that springs to mind is a negative advertising site on their behalf warning people to steer clear of them

Grrrrrrrr I'm so annoyed right now

Re: C Sharp Dot Net ???

Well I'm hoping so, at the end of the day they are in breech of their agreement. The 2nd letter I just sent them outlines this again and also states this is my final demand for action and that all further corispondace will be from a solicitor. I also added that CCJ's can damge the credit rating of an individual or company.

My second letter really let em have it with both barrels.

I lost out 3 grand on a course two years back which was supposed to teach me A+ right up to MCSA and they were useless too. No help what so ever. Tutor always too busy. Had to wait half a day for a disc to study from while they went and copied it... all the usual.

But the thing is, when do you draw the line and give in and say enough is enough..
When do you stop chasing dreams?

My partner is extremely supportive but both these incidents have made me extremely un trusting of any courses now... She is suggesting other places to try but I just dont have the heart any more. I'm convinced all these places are just rip offs.

I don't know what I'd do if I ever saw that rep again... Well then again lol....

My college is like that - the course I am on is a right shambles and the entire group will probably fail but meh. Gonna try something different next semester - multimedia perhaps...

Re: C Sharp Dot Net ???

Well, Still no refund and just more ignorance as the company refuses to answer any of my letters.
I did however receive a nice letter from the finance company saying I would have to pay for a course I was never on to which I replied telling them to stick it, theres no way I'm paying for being sold the wrong course.

Now I am deep in battle with these guys and I wont back down!
I have made a little dedication to their good work which can be found here:

http://skills-trainuk.com

I checked around before posting this and I can't see any rules I am breaking but if so, I apologise and please only delete the web url and not the post!

Well, not a bad site for someone that hasn't supposed to have any web skills heheheheh
Obviously it's a work in progress as I had to get it up and running swiftly.
I'm happy to report that I'm having great fun making Joomla! templates uisng html and css (thanks to this site) as apposed to tables.. eurghhh.

From what I read in the useless course SkillsTrain sent me, they are still promoting tables ROFL!

Incidentaly, this company now owes me over double the original amount due to charges I have applied.. All this and all they had to do was put me on the correct course or issue a refund.
Now they have a war and a mega bill : /

Crazy People
