VisualStudio.NET

Ive just got a new PC and now everytime I open an ASP page it launches a seperate copy if visual studio.net instead of opening multiple asp pages in the same environment and putting tabs at the top.

Anyone know the setting to stop this from happening? Ive been through the options but i cant find it.

Thanks
Smokie

thanks man but it is checked already. I wondered if it something to do with that parameters are passed to visual studio when its opened, but i cant see how to change them in XP, when i go to folder options i only get the option to choose which program opens an asp file. ARRGHH!

Anyone?

ok...

Reg hack (You'll love this... lol)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.asp

Delete the application string value.

Also run a search (Exact Match) for: .asp delete any references to visual studio.

This is probabaly not the best way to go about fixing this, but I can't think of anything else right now.

The above will remove the association in windows...

After that, just re-create it in folder options.

Let me know if you get it sorted.

Rob

On the screenshot you gave us, you can hit the change button to select a new program to open the file with. This will allow you to deassociate it with Visual Studio. Then you can set it back if need be.

Just a thought.
