Beginning to Apply my skillz...

Ok heres what I am up to now.. I am going to attempt to build a site with a user log-in. Then I am going to create a page that the user can select what information they want displayed and save thier settings. I will then add a shopping cart to make it all worth while. Just posting this to let yall know when I started and will post again when I am in need of help, haha.

Problem with me is I don't know where to start with designing this. Should I start with the ASP or with the Database? I dont know which to do first...

You will need to plan your database... what tables you need, what fields, primary keys, foreign keys and relationships...

once you've got that done (and setup in your database) you can start on the ASP.

If you really think about the problem and do it this way then less things should go wrong.

Link for us to see your progress? Or are you going to develop it off the server first?

I'm mucking around with something very similar and I'd love to hear how you're doing things.

No, Im not at a university now, but I have been learning ASP. It's fun stuff, although I'm VERY new to it yet and am just trying to fit all of my puzzle pieces together... Cause you know with the book they give you 15,000 Pieces and to build the puzzle you need 25,000. I think with a little of Rob's help (and a couple of his puzzle pieces :wink I might just be able to pull it off.
