ASP VS Embedded Web Server

Hi all,

Can an embedded server run asp pages?

Our company is developing a new product which uses Webpage as the user interface. I'm doing the feasibility study now.

The system works like this, a PC hook up to the SIMS (new device with an embedded webserver through the ethernet port. The webpage is to pass certain parameters from a database, probably Access, down to the SIMS. My only experience doing a webpage linked to the database is using ASP and Access. I don't know if i can do the same again this time. Storing the database in the pc but the ASP pages in the device's server.. Anyone any comment? Any help will do.

I guess it depends upon the technology behind the embedded server.

I reckon whatever happens, this sounds like a candidate for XML and XSLT

It really depends on if the embeded server can run IIS which required running a Windows OS. I'm guessing it's some form of *nix running on it though, which would mean PHP or JSP.
