securing email scripts from spam

Hi,

It has occurred to me that the method I use for creating online email forms may be quite open to spam attack, and I am wondering about the best way to prevent this.

Normally I have a page with a form which submits to a processing page which contains a standard CDOSYS script to send the info from the form variables to the hardcoded recipient. At the moment, there is nothing to stop you just going directly to the processing page (and even sending form variables to it) to send an email to the hard coded recipient.

I need a quick fix that I can implement in a lot of places. I don't really want to have to ask customers to enter characters read from an image if I can help it. I don't believe I can trust server referrer variables either because some browsers (IE) don't seem to send them.

Any quick and easy options would be greatly appreciated.

I have a lot of these forms on various sites on our server, and am worried that our server may already have been targeted and may have been blacklisted by AOL etc. Does anybody know how I can check this, and how I can sort it out?
