pleae please help

hi all, firstly hello and also please please help!!
Hi there, I am new to this forum as I only just started learning to build a website last night. I decided to just stick with Frontpage to build my website as it should serve me well for what I need my website to do. I have built the basic shell of my site and tried to upload it this morning. I am having big problems getting the site to load properly.

If you go to my site www.msvhex.co.uk, you will see the problem. Basically rather than loading the homepage, it simply comes up with the website file component list. If you then click index.html from the list, it loads up as I would expect it to and everything works as normal.

If anyone could shed some light as to what I have done wrong I would be really grateful.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: pleae please help

I didn't seen any file list. Instead what I could see was a page with blue background and a grey centered table.

Re: pleae please help

Moved to Apache And IIS Forum

I also edited the thread title to something more descriptive. Please try and stay away from "please help" or something similar.

It seems to work fine

Re: pleae please help

ok, sorry I managed to fix the problem, it was just in a wrong folder. I have encountered a new problem...............

My website looks different on different monitors. I designed it on my 22inch monitor, when i tried to view it on my 13inch macbook, it is all messed up and not alligned properly. Does anyone know if there is a way to make sure it resizes itself based on the resolution screen??

cheers

Re: pleae please help

CSS flexible layouts. or, since yours is designed with tables, probably percentage for the width.

Re: pleae please help

the physical size of the monitor should make no difference, 1280*1024 (for instance) resolution is the same whether on a 22", 36" 48" whatever - it just looks smaller/bigger depending on the physical size of the monitor. The fact of it is you've fallen into the trap most people new to designing for the web fall into - you've designed a site that fits the resolution of the computer you were building it on, without taking into consideration smaller resolutions. Besides, you shouldn't be using frontpage or tables anyway
