phpmyadmin problem

Hello i recently installed XAMPP to handle my php\mysql\apache localhost sever!

I have opened XAMPP control panel, clicked admin button, selected phpmyadmin from the options, and imported a sql database file into php my admin, all querys went well, and i have succesfully linked the database to a dreamweaver php file, the only problem i am having now is when i go back into XAMPP control panel, and launch phpmyadmin i get the following meseges below, indicating i have password problems, i am 24 hours old new to phpmyadmin, how do i fix this problem??

Below is my errors:

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

search for a file called my.ini it should be in your windows directory.
check the password in that file against the priviliges you set in phpmyadmin.
