Worst Website Archive to be retired!

The worst Websites archive was set up back in 2003 as nothing more than just a laugh and to poke fun, with an aim to inspire 'new' developers by showing examples of what not to do. We've had many laughs at some of the sites listed, but have to admit it has been abused on several occasions with people submitting their competitors sites and others abusing the section for personal vendettas, etc, etc. These are contributory reasons for it's closure.

Webforumz is always evolving and we have a new mission statement:-

"Webforumz mission is to provide a welcoming and supportive venue where open and honest discussions about web design can take place among designers of all skill levels."
Our goals are to:
  • Be a Resource
  • Share Information
  • Promote Professional Development
With this in mind, the closure of the Worst Websites Archive is a nessesary step to become a more professional resource. Not to mention, the site owners of the sites listed their were not the developers and it seemed a little unfair to have them unfairly targetted.

We want all future steps the forum may take to inspire using positive methods and the worst websites archive was purely a negative thing.

So, with our hats off in a salutory style, we bid farewell to this section from the 1st of August.

Goodbye Worst Websites Archive.... you've made us laugh!
