The best way of promoting your site, is to do it by hand.. yourself!

Sure that takes time, but so does cleaning your car..... if you rush it or try and automate it (like garage car-washes), you also end up with a shitty job and in all likelihood, something will get broken (like your aeriel for instance)... or in this case, your rankings.

So i submit my site to all the search engines myself. Thing is, not only do you have to join the likes of yahoo yourself, but you then seem to need to pay for the likes of overture. I thought the automatic method sounded cheaper and easier.

I've suggested my site to google and yahoo. lycos seems more tricky.

Is this worth doing?

Search engine submission has been dicussed every tenth thread for ages and you haven't realised it yet?

Easiest way to be indexed is to have a link from an already indexed site, therefore your site gets searched. Quicked and easiest way, plus there is some discussion that submitting your site harms your page rank.
