Re: Creative Concept

I'm not wild about this site. The way the site is layed out is good. It's easy to get around and the information provided is excellent.

The part that bothers me is the water graphic at the top. It has nothing to do with design. Since you are advertising your design abilities, I think you should revisit the design of your own site. It's not very creative.

Also all the photos you are using Graphic Design and Web Design pages really don't represent the topic you are discussing.

It looks as if you sort of threw this together without a lot of "design" planning.

Looking at your other work, I know you are very talented... sometimes the hardest sites to do are our own... but I think I'd think this through a little more!

Re: Creative Concept

You might want to have a look at it in FF :eek:

Totally agree with what Lchad said. Those graphics ... just don't do it for web.

You should be designing with a HTML strict or XHTML transitional doctype in mind. HTML transitional doesn't look very good on a web designers site. Neither do the table layout. Get with the times and re-do the site with CSS/DIV layouts in mind.

Re: Creative Concept

I'm sorry to be critical, but you need a copywriter. You really should have a site working in Firefox before posting it here, too, since an unusual number of the people who give time to critique pages use it as their primary browser.

Good luck. The design shows a lot of originality.

The site did work in firefox now im confused!
I am also in the process of working with a copywriter as I definately agree the text needs some work, its so hard to do your own website! Or thats what ive found anyway!

Re: Creative Concept

Just in case you are wondering how to get it to pass validation...you should add a character encoding.

Code: Select all
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />

Don't give up. Keep it as it is now, for the time being. Take a few weeks, learn valid XHTML and CSS table-less layouts, give it another shot. Websites take time and patience, something which many people nowadays are lacking. Never give up. Even if something looks impossible, keep trudging through.
