It is a good start on your site. I think it might look a little better if it wasn't so crowded. Put a little space in between your tables and the data. Not a lot but just a little it looks pretty crowded to me and maybe a different backgroud color would work also with it maybe a #FF9966 just to bring out the pictures and make them jump out at you a little more. Just some thoughts but overall the site isntlooking to bad keep working on it bro

Cheers but what background colour do you mean? The main table or the main page?

mess around with both maybe do different but similar colors on both the table and the page will give it a nice possibly 3-D look to it maybe do the background a lil darker than the table color but that is just a suggestion i am not as good as the rest of the guys on here just trying to help you out but just give it a try and let me know what u come up with and if anyone has any better ideas i would like to see theirs also

I do think there's too much grey here - It seems a little grayscale. If you could liven it up a little but use colours that work well together then I think this page will be a lot more memorable.
You should also DEFINETLY put some text on your homepage! Just an image is a bad way to go. No-one knows anything about your site whatsoever and they have no incentive to click on any of your links. Worse still, it's very bad news for the search engines. |

From what i have read in the other topics for the search engines to give you a good consideration you must have 300-600 words of content on a page. It might help you to see the form section on search engine stuff. Rob posts there alot and he is the guru of google and the best way to market your site to searchers and surfers. And on the colors i agree with sir on this. Colors that go together are a must. My idea for it was to use like a light red and a dark red background to maybe give it a multi dimensional look. But plain is not good and won't keep many visitors at your site they might just surf on.

maybe some blues or some reds might give it a catchy look. Just play around with some colors until you get something you like. Trial and error is the best way. Try maybe 8 different color variations and then choose the one you like. And no problem anytime

do you think its a good idea to set classes and then to define them in a seperate css page so that i can change the whole site in one go?

Yeah as long as you are pretty familiar with css files that is a fine idea but im not sure how others will feel about this and i am far from an expert on css lol

i am as familiar with css as i am with html so it should work... unless of course one needs to have to classes (eg one for the bgcolor and one for a border) in which case id have to create a new one unless someone knows a way of combining two?
