Why not download Snitz, which is this forum system? scroll to the bottom of the window, look right and you will see the little red "Snitz Forumz 2000" link. Not sure if it free anymore, but wont hurt to have a look.

yeah...

u can stick to my preferred forum system... toast forums
the main thing is that it is skinnable and so may appeal and look 'cool' unlike the static look of many others like snitz.. ( but of course, different pple have diff tastes )
The site is :-
http://www.toastforums.com/

to see it in action
see http://www.toastforums.com/demo/toast.asp

for a live demo

though some of the skins suck

Snitz is "skinable" in some fashion. It can be completely customized if you know ASP! ;-) Ours is already far from plain snitz as far as functionality.
