New Forums

I think webforumz should open a new forum for 'General Design and Development' or 'Projects and Planning' or even 'Security'

I haven't been around here very long, but there doesn't seem to be a good place to post ideas/methods about accomplishing tasks, other than a specfic forum for a certain technology, which I still might get the anwser I'm looking for. But on large scale starting a project, or tuning a project there doesn't seem to be a place to post general ideas or get help about general ideas.

This isn't just a good idea for me, being newbie web-developer, but for other professionals to share thoughts and ideas on complex projects.

Re: New Forums

If you develop something you want to show to everyone go to the forum where that is at. For example...if it is something in flash, go to the flash forum, and post it there. Also remember you can always post in the webforumz cafe anything you want to show off...lol

Re: New Forums

The reason I'm suggesting another discussion forum is that websites use many different internet technologies. And there is no specific place to discuss a combined technologies for a website in pre-production or post-production.

Like you said, I could post in the forum of the technology I'm using but say for instance I'm trying to figure out methods for doing something then it becomes a mess. When an HTML topic becomes a php topic to javascript topic. I'm not a huge poster. More of a reader and I just think any of those additional forums would help organize the site and attract more members.

Re: New Forums

I don't think such a broad forum would be such a good idea. If anything, you can post your question in the café and we'll give you our opinions there.

Re: New Forums

I don't know - I like the idea of a 'beginner, no idea where to start' forum - it can be quite intimidating being presented with a wide range of forum names - some you've never even heard of. And then having to pick one that best fits the problem that you have no idea how to solve...

If you're going to make the cafe do this - then you should add a bit to its description saying that its for general newbie enquiries - then they'll know where to go and be more likely to post.
