Help Updating News Pages

Hi, I'm no Pro, and can only just get to grips with basic dreamweaver stuff, so pleas no extreme "tech" talk lol

i'm trying to build a website at the moment, with a regularly updated news section (http://www.musicnewsuk.co.uk/news.html).

The problem is i don't know how to update the news without having to copy/paste the links continually to make space on the first news page - i'm not wording this very clearly but i hope you can see what i mean.

Is there a way i can put content on the first news page (and still maintain a max of 8 stories on the page) without having to cut/copy a story across multiple pages to make room for the updated story - i can see this being a massive problem after 4/5 pages of news.

any help would be HUGELY appreciated!

James

Perhaps you would like to try a CMS, or content management system. There are plenty out there that help you set up and maintain a site with little effort on your part, specifically news or blog type things. I personally don't use these, but I've heard good things about http://wordpress.com/ and http://movabletype.org/ .

Sounds like something you could do with PHP and MySQL. This duo is extremely flexible but you do need get to grips with the programming.

That's what CMS are for! So you don't have to learn programming!

Re: Help Updating News Pages

That's what I meant. I meant Textpattern, not Wordpress.

Textile is awesome!
