Hi there!
I only just found this place, and it looked interesting so I thought I'd join up!
Would really appreciate your opinions of my site. I launched it earlier this year and I have been encouraged enough to give up the day job and focus on this.
The site was designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. I deliberately stayed away from distracting technologies like flash in the fear that it would divert attention from the reason for being there!
Tell me what you think, I'd be interested in your feedback.
Regards
Richard

Re: ellucky.co.uk

Hi Richard,

I find your website to be a little bit cluttered. There's so much on it that I get a horizontal scroller on a 1024 x768 screen.

The banner is a bit too much with all the stars and the lens flare. Maybe something a bit simpler might be okay?

You're using 4 different types of blue. It's clashing.
I don't mind different shades of blue if they contain the same proportions of red and green.

I don't understand why you picked yellow as a colour to go with the blue, when the colour doesn't repeat itself anywhere except in the side bars. But that's up to personal preference, I guess.

Yeah, I agree, the banner ruins any semblence of professionalism or quality.

Re: ellucky.co.uk

I would say the entire site is too chunky.
The banner is too busy, the nav tabs are 3D adding more chunkiness.
Then the yellow boxes are large. I actually like the layout of the yellow boxes and would leave that. The bid here boxes are 3D adding more chunkiness.

The blue text box in the center is the wrong shade of blue. It's more on the turquoise and adds yet another thing for my eye to absorb.

My suggestion is to flatten out some of the pieces. Add more white space around the headline and make the turquoise text box a little more narrow like on the other pages.

I think with a few alterations, you'll have a very nice site!!!

Re: ellucky.co.uk

Just a few things I noticed:

1. In the checkout box, there's a massive gap between "Total:" and "£0". I'd be inclined to move them together, with just a normal character space in between.
2. You've got a white border around some of the photos, like the Mini. I'd crop this, it looks really bad in my opinion - i.e., like no-one bothered to crop properly!
3. I think the product boxes need a bit more work - especially the text for the entry fee, which is very bland. Could you superimpose the prices etc over the product photos? It looks good in catalogues!

There's potential there, and as e-commerce sites go I've definitely seen worse. Good luck for the future.
