Re: New To PHP - Want To Learn

There's a list of them, infact I havent heard of a site making you opay for their PHP tutorials. :S

You can start with Zend for absolute beginners: http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/627

Personally i find some of it too detailed and stupid, like arrays about cheese haha. Google it, the internet is full of resources

Re: New To PHP - Want To Learn

And once you get on your feet, php.net/functionnamehere is going to be easily your most useful resource of syntax while you are coding. It's saved my life many times

Re: New To PHP - Want To Learn

If i get alot better at coding php would there a chance i might be able to code my own forum?

Or would that take years to do it?

Re: New To PHP - Want To Learn

That's certainly very possible and whether it would take you years or not entirely depends on how fast you learn. The biggest problem when coding something like a forum is the security considerations you have to take into account / know about.

You can open your server / other things to attack from malicious activity if it's not done right but that can be solved with good testing and reading the appropriate stuff which can all be easily found on google.

Re: New To PHP - Want To Learn

I wouldn't code my own forum, email, etc. unless it was a university project or something. There are just too many really advanced professional coders who have done it.
