help! i cannot view my website

Hello people,

I hope someone is kind enough to help me, cos i'm in a bit of a pickle. I've designed my first site in Dreamweaver, pretty much finished, and now i want to get it onto the remote server so share my site with others! (btw sorry if i use the wrong terms throughout this).

So, I have set up all the FTP stuff, and initially i had one page up whilst I was working on the site saying 'site under construction'. Mind you, for some reason i hadn't done that properly as no pictures were showing.

Now, I have taken that down and i am trying to put my complete website onto the host which is

http://s182232394.website.co.uk (i also have the domain names gugaw.com and gugaw.co.uk which i have forwarded to this)

Now, all that is showing on the page is this message

"FORBIDDEN
You tried to access a document for which you don't have privileges."



Any idea? Please help me if so, I have spent months desiging this site and now i cant share it, it infuriating!!

P.S. i have tried contacting the people i brought the webspace from at 1and1 but all that happens is i get routed to the phillipines or my emails are unanswered. pah!

Page does not seem to work for me. I get page can not be displayed error. But from what you have said above. I would say you need an (index) file within the main dictionary of your hosting account.

Do you have a page in your viewable directory (like public.html/) named "index.html"?

this might also be an issue on the server... I once had similar problem, and I actually had an index.php file on the server.

Anyways, it might be that the www folder has been deleted and you only have public_html folder (I once had this problem - it's quite a bizarre one, but everything can happen - so perhaps that's also your case)
