Question swf file size / banner advertising

Hello,

I am pretty new to flash and have been playing with it for a few weeks now. I have been attempting to create banner-ads for the company I work for... and I have a couple of questions.

Normally for the sites we advertise on, their file size limit for a swf is 30-40k.. I am having a very hard time trying to stay within these limits.

I use minimal pictures in gif or jpg formats.. those files are approx 12-16k each.. I have minimal animation.. When I've tried using the frame-by-frame animation, my file size ends up being normally around 60-69k..

I have seen some other banners these sites are advertising.. which HUGE pictures and a lot of animation and their file sizes are within the limits.. I'm not sure what they are doing that I am not.. should I be using a certain type of image? Or only use action scripts?

Does anyone know of any tips or tricks.. or is there some third party program people are using? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Re: swf file size / banner advertising

Well you could load the pictures and files that are stored in your library, from he server. So that they are not taking space in your swf. Also you could change the quality of the swf via the export panel. Note: A loader would be a good ideal if you are going to be loading the content external, also doing your motion tweens and animation via action script will also save you some space. Hope this has helped you some...and Good Luck!!
