A website in Flash

I am intending to build a complete website in flash, but was considering the issue of search engine availability to a flash website, as there would be no direct html code involved. Would you recomend soley creating a website in flash, or intergrating flash into a web page?

Thanks!

Re: A website in Flash

Well me personally, I would recommend building two websites...lol

One XHTML/CSS website for dial-up users, then the other a completely flash based website. But as far as SEO goes, there are several completely flash websites that have good SEO rankings, just have really good Meta tags, and a good site map.

You could also have different flash documents, giving you more pages for google to look at. Like a flash file for the about page, and one for the home page, and so on...If you have a gmail account, you can use google tools to find out what more google wants from your website. (Google Tools)

Also you could have your website be XHTML/CSS built into your flash page. Similar to what this website does.

http://www.hilaryduff.com/

She uses an XHTM/CSS website, but also has some cool flash stuff going on as well. I would also like to note that, she has another set of links at the bottom, which are html links. That will also help google. So that means each page takes you to a different flash file. Another example might be...

Here is one example of a completely flash website, which has really good google listings, which is partly because of how many people in the world link to the website.

I personally would try to do like the Hilary Duff website, but that is kind of hard to accomplish. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you, or if you have any other questions. Oh yeah, Good Luck!!
