editing existing flash menus

Hi there..

theres no doubt about it flash is supercool...

Although i do not know how to use it

I have been buying fab existing graphics and editing them.. (or trying to!)

I have recently got one menu with has a slider colour and sound attached to each section... which move when the cursor goes over..

I wanted to change the links to fit in with the site..
To do this I went to each movie clip, then added an on click action script...

the only thing is .. now i have changed the links.. they are now static...

can anyone please help..

Not sure as if I know what you mean by static. Can you post a link up here, so that we can see what you are talking about? Or at least the action script code.

I was speaking about the menu on this test page,, which I have just started work on.. but I can now see that it does work when uploaded ... soz.. but the links are not working???? any ideas why??

also in uploading it I also see that the flash gallery is taking ages to upload... (do I need a loader - do u think..) ... do u think there is a problem or is it just too big??

Ok so the problem is none of the links work right? If this is the problem them post me up the action script code, which you used to link the buttons to another area within your flash document.

I think youre right... It must be the action script... cos infact I dont have one... ... I just inserted the flash into the dreamweaver page..

do you know what the actionscript should be???

Well if you have the Fla file, which is the flash edit file. Then you click on the button, hit (F9) then type...

on (release) {
    getURL("http://www.google.com","_blank");
}

You can change the target of the code, which is how the page opens, wither you want it in a new (blank) window or in the same (self) window. Let me know if you have any more questions, or wither this is not what you are trying to accomplish.
