Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

Smile Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

Yep, I agree!!

No Fla, you can only import. I just hope you did not block it from import in the publish settings, if you did you could hack the swf, but that would result in one ugly fla file...lol

*Not that I would know about hacking fla's or anything...I promise...no really I would never ever do such a rotten thing to someone else's swf. I promise Rob!!*

Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

I have not used this software, but I think it still outputs all in one frame. Also you don't get to see any of the action script code. But nothing wrong with trying it...lol

Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

Cool, I will, that way is much better than trying to hack your own Fla file. That happened to me one time, I learned my lesson, took me one hour to hack my own swf. I should have searched google....lol

Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

Don't know, but when I lost the fla for my old website, my protected swf took me about an hour to hack by hand...and it put everything all in one layer, and lost all of my hand coded actionscript. So I ended up rebuilding my website...lol

Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

Yeah, I wonder wither the paid version does sound? I don't really want to mess with it if they can't get the sound as well. So many swf's have sound now. So it would be pointless if you don't get the sound with it. Not to mention I feel kind of bad, stilling someone else's flash file.

Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

indeed..! it does also the sounds and the actionScripts, only it doesn't decompile perfectly...
It's true, it's making me feel bad if I'm stealling someone else's flash file, but I'm using it to study how can all those amazing flash sites going on...!
And mostly when I check the actionScripts they are very advanced, I couldn't even understand...

Re: How to Modify Existing SWF file

Really the more I think about it, I don't feel bad. Website designers do this all of the time. They find a website they like, they then copy the XHTML or CSS or whatever code, and change some things, and add a little of their own flavor to the website. But until now, this was not possible for flash websites, you could not see how they did their website, but now you can. So in a way, everything is now at a level playing field so to speak. I can see code in HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, Pear, JavaScript, and now flash. So everything thing is fair....or at least that is how I get to sleep at night…lol
