[SOLVED] e-mail encoding with XHTML

I have converted some sites from HTML 4 to XHTML and found that the extension I used to try and hide e-mails mailto: no longer works. I guess it's the & amp part but I am not too sure. Can anyone through a quick fix in the bag for me?

Thanks

by extension, I presume you mean URL/Querystring.....

The format is mailto:email@domain.ext?subject=the%20subject&body =Body%20Text

Sorry maybe I have mislead you. In Dreamweaver I was using an extension mail spam blocker to hide the mailto: and the address. All works well with HTML4 but it does not work with XHTML. I have tried other extensions that do the same thing only to find that they will not work in XHTML. I assume that the & amp part is the problem and that XHTML does not like it?? How can I get over the problem is there an extension for dreamweaver that will work in XHTML or can I alter anything with the existing mail spam blocker?

Thanks

That should work for XHTML and HTML4, unless you mean an application extension. If this is the case, someone who knows more about Dreamweaver may be able to help.

I don't think any of us have ever used an extension mail spam blocker. Perhaps you could tell us exactly what it is and where it can be found and we can advise you further?

I think the OP is looking for something to create character entities out of a mailto.

E_Cloaker is a good program, but not a DW extension.
