Re: banner-place.com

Looks like the other 10,000 sites I close out of when I end up on the wrong or an old domain.

Don't use directory sites, won't use directory sites. Not as long as search engines give me 50,000 more choices for my efforts.

Re: banner-place.com

I like your header. It's has a message and is nice to look at.
A couple of points....the "create account" button. It looks unprofessional.

The initial paragrah "Want to increase traffic?" I'd tweak that a bit.
Want to increase traffic on your website "make this your H1 tag.
Delete "You are in the right place"
new line
Upload your banner for only $1.95 a month or lower! Change your banner anytime
new line First 10 days are absolutely FREE!
Try it Now!

I'd like to see this entire cell broken into three columns.
Graphic of sunburst on left, this text above in the center.
Then in the third right column have Create account button. That would balance out that area. The create account button is just floating and needs to be anchored visually.
In the third column I'd say Create your account now. With a button.
Hope that helps.

Re: banner-place.com

Thank you for your suggestions! This was really helpful and I'll make some corrections. What is wrong with the "Create account" button? One reviewer told me that button looks very pixelated, but that's not case on my monitor. (resolution 1280x1024)
Thank you, again!

Re: banner-place.com

I've got a fairly new computer, but the Flash is absolutely killing my browser. Macs never handled Flash wonderfully, but hampered my ability to view your site.

I think you need to move the content further up. The empty gap at the top and such a large header is taking up too much of the valuable space of what visitors see before scrolling.

Directory site.... How do you sleep at night? Just kidding, but not really... or am I?

Also... just FYI: when you write prices of things down... the currency symbol goes in front of the numbers...not after them.

Re: banner-place.com

@minute44
This is my second site in PHP + MySQL combination and I use it just as test of what I learned so far. (I don't expect some huge success) I payed more attention on php scripts then site design. Anyway, I think it is not that bad. I didn't want to build directory site, but if users just upload their banners it would be huge mess. I had to do something about that and it turns like directory site.
Thanks for your language corrections. English is not my spoken language and I probably made some mistakes.

@rianfait
I don't have Mac, so I can't test site on that platform.

Re: banner-place.com

Just lettin' you know to go easy on the extreme Flash on the main page. Perhaps you should consider using only image banners on the front page until those are out of there.

Re: banner-place.com

Thank you for your suggestions!
I've redesigned it partially and now is much like search engine.(it was idea from beginning) Directories are shown only on demand. (you really hate directories )
It is not my decision to put flash banners on home page. Users upload their banners in format of their choice.
Hope it's better now.

Re: banner-place.com

I don't like that "Create Account" button. It doesn't match anything else on your site and it's hard to read. I'd remove the large description too, the "Want to increase traffic..." It immediately looks like an online informercial because of it.

Re: banner-place.com

Forgive me Ryan, I for once have to disagree with you, respectfully of course....

I think the headline "Want to Increase Traffic?" ....... is exactly what this type of site needs. It has to GRAB the visitor and explain in as few as words as possible how uploading a banner ad would benefit ME.

This is NOT an informational based site. I'm not sure how to categorize it actually since I'm not sure what it's benefits are. Could the benefits of this site be explained somewhere in smaller text? Are you advertising in places so my banner will be seen or do people have to go to your site to see the banners? See I'm confused so maybe some type of explanation would be beneficial. Why should I pay $1.95 or less ??? Know what I mean?

Re: banner-place.com

The site has no purpose except to create BS traffic. These sites only serve to confuse people because visitors will always have this underlying feeling that they are on some large ring of intertwined sites with the sole purpose of "tricking in to clicking" so they get paid. The net is flooded with these and that's the only reason some succeed. Drop enough turds in the water, some are bound to float. If the creator can't deal with this reality, they should get out of the business.

The other issue of these sites is that with google you get 50,000 hits, with these silly little directories you get 1 or 2 hits and those people PAID to be on the site and the site owner CHOSE to let them them on. It's a ridiculous concept.
